KATU: Old Town Re-Opening Plan

Old Town Community Association unveils community-led reopening plan

The Old Town Community Association (OTCA) recently introduced a 90-day plan aimed at revitalizing the historic neighborhood of Portland. This initiative, led by community members, focuses on improving safety, cleanliness, and accessibility in Old Town. Despite limited resources, local organizations and OTCA members are actively working to eliminate trash and graffiti. The plan also addresses the urgent need for solutions to drug addiction, gun violence, and other challenges plaguing the area. Jessie Burke, OTCA board chair, emphasized the collective effort required to overcome these issues, inviting all Portlanders to contribute to the neighborhood’s recovery.
